Companion Canned Dog Food Recalled for Metal Fragments, Choking Hazard
Companion canned dog food sold at Stop and Shop, Martin’s Foods, and at Giant Food Store retail outlets is being recalled because it may contain – an as yet unnamed – “foreign material”.
This recall coincides with the announcement of PetSmart’s Grreat Choice Adult Dog Food which was recalled for “metal contamination” which poses a choking risk to pets. Both of these brands are private label brands manufactured for them by Simmons pet food therefore, we can assume the recall is for the same reason as PetSmart’s: Metal contamination.

Odd that three foods have been recalled at the same time for the same thing: Petsmart, Wellness, and this food. Hmm. Could they all be made by the same co-packer? What else comes from there? Bet we haven’t seen the end of this one.
